Yesterday I met a friend for tea in a small hamlet just outside the city limits. It was a sunny, blue-sky day. The vastness and personality of the Alberta sky still catches me by surprise. Truly, I felt the desire to breathe in that beauty and sense of openness. I hope I remain aware of that beauty that surrounds my new home and do not ever take it for granted.
It reminded me of Tourism Alberta's campaign.
I used to love walking 5 minutes and being surrounded by nothing, I do miss that. That being said we don't get out and appreciate what we have her nearly enough. Ev
ReplyDeleteI remember the first time we drove to Banff (14 years since we moved to Alberta). It was breathtaking. Now, I guess I probably take it for granted. Alberta feels like home now, and my memories of NB are fading :(
ReplyDeleteThere is beauty around us all the time, challenge is to notice it. One of my goals this year is to be mindful of everything.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes forget how beautiful it is here and am often reminded of how lucky I am to live where I do by meeting people when I travel who have been to Banff and say it's one of their favourite locations. For me it's my backyard, for them it was a trip of a life time and I try to remember that when I'm complaining about the cold.
ReplyDeleteYes but Claire if we did not complain about the cold we would hardly be Canadian!
