Rememeber to breathe in the beauty around you

Yesterday I met a friend for tea in a small hamlet just outside the city limits. It was a sunny, blue-sky day. The vastness and personality of the Alberta sky still catches me by surprise. Truly, I felt the desire to breathe in that beauty and sense of openness. I hope I remain aware of that beauty that surrounds my new home and do not ever take it for granted.

It reminded me of Tourism Alberta's campaign.

  1. I used to love walking 5 minutes and being surrounded by nothing, I do miss that. That being said we don't get out and appreciate what we have her nearly enough. Ev

  2. I remember the first time we drove to Banff (14 years since we moved to Alberta). It was breathtaking. Now, I guess I probably take it for granted. Alberta feels like home now, and my memories of NB are fading :(

  3. There is beauty around us all the time, challenge is to notice it. One of my goals this year is to be mindful of everything.

  4. I sometimes forget how beautiful it is here and am often reminded of how lucky I am to live where I do by meeting people when I travel who have been to Banff and say it's one of their favourite locations. For me it's my backyard, for them it was a trip of a life time and I try to remember that when I'm complaining about the cold.

  5. Yes but Claire if we did not complain about the cold we would hardly be Canadian!
